Junior-Key Requirements
 | The Junior age division is open to ages 10-12 (and
no older than 12 on June 1st of the Pageant year) |
 | Contestant must be a citizen of the United States |
 | Contestant must reside or attend school in Muscatine
or adjacent counties (Louisa, Scott, Cedar or Johnson), plus Des Moines
County. |
 | Contestant must abide by all the agreements and
representations contained within paperwork. |
 | Entry/Sponsorship Fee: $125, Contestants may seek business sponsors for this fee or it
may be paid by friends or family. |
 | Rehearsal Schedule: Rehearsal Day, Saturday January
3rd, 2009; Dress Rehearsal, Friday January 9, 2009 may enter at
4pm, talent & opening number rehearsal at 5pm, dress rehearsal at 6pm. |
 | Competition Day: Interviews,
7pm Evening Competition on Saturday January 10, 2009. |

Competitions and Judging
Interview
 |
Interviews are 6 minutes. No
opening or closing. Seated. |
 |
Junior Miss questions will
come from the contestant’s application, fact sheet, community service and
other age appropriate questions. |
 |
Contestant’s
interview wardrobe should be age appropriate. |
Talent
 |
Contestant’s talent must not
be longer than
2 Minutes. Only CD accompaniment is acceptable. |
 |
“Live”
accompaniment is not permitted. Only the contestant is permitted on-stage.
No other person may be a part of her presentation. |
 |
Talent must be performed live.
No sheet music allowed.
Number must be performed by memory. Pantomime and
lip-sync are not permitted. |
 |
Accompaniment
music must not contain talent and background enhancements. |
 |
Tap dancers
may not have accompaniment CD’s with pre-recorded taps or tap sounds. |
 |
Fire (fire
ropes, fire batons, etc.), pyrotechnics, swords, knives or machetes, bow and
arrow acts, and the use of live animals are strictly prohibited. |
 |
NO PROPS ALLOWED. |
Casual Wear
 |
Age
appropriate and reflects current fashion trends. |
Presence & Poise in Party Dress
 |
Contestant
should wear age appropriate attire that makes her feel pretty, special and
reflects current fashion trends. |
 |
Age
appropriate special occasion dresses are what we're looking for not "overly
formal" dresses. Please keep in mind the length of the dress, the material
and lining so that it will be non-revealing when worn on a stage. NOTE:
unlined items can become transparent with the intense stage lighting. |
On-Stage Question
 |
The Contestant
will be asked 1 on-stage question. Contestant’s question will be derived from
her fact sheet and/or interview. |
